Investing in health and well-being can lead to better staff retention, reduced sick leave and improved morale, which is all great for business.

SEA Change Systems Map

Having a strong and engaging community enables people to increase their control over, and improve, their health and well-being.

Schools are instrumental in developing health literacy which will empower children and students to make informed choices and decisions about their health and well-being.

Being healthy means you can enjoy the lifestyle you want.

Eat nutritious food – the key is to eat a variety of foods. This will help you achieve a well-balanced diet and good nutrition and help prevent disease.

Be active– getting out and active is a great way to stay healthy and connect with your community.

Industry / Organisation

A healthy workplace is one where workers and managers continually improve processes to protect and promote the health, safety and well-being of all employees. Improving health and well-being can increase employee job satisfaction and engagement. It has also been shown to improve productivity, reduce sick leave and increase employee retention.

Being physically active, combined with eating healthy, nutritious food, means you can enjoy the lifestyle you want. Sporting clubs can assist by providing opportunities to be physically active. To be successful, sporting groups must maintain a positive culture and provide an environment in which social connections among members will flourish.

Task Teams

A SEA Change Task Team can be formed temporarily to accomplish a task or to be engaged in some collective action.

Champions / Ambassadors

Everyone has a part to play in making Portland a community where healthy eating and being active is easy. Every single person can make one, sustainable change. Together, we can make a difference. Become a SEA Change ‘Champion’. Share what you are doing, excite others to do what you are doing.
